HRM King Alfred P. Diete-Spiff, the Amanyanabo of Twon Brass Kingdom, is an alumnus of the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, England. He was a Naval Officer and commissioned as a ship diving officer in 1964. He served as the first Military Governor of Rivers State, after it was created out of old Eastern Region of Nigeria in 1967. He governed the state until 1975. He was also a member of the Supreme Military Council (SMC) under General Yakubu Gowon’s administration.

Rekpene E. Bassey, MSc., DCJ., an Ambassador of Global Peace, is a Trained Journalist, Certified Professional Investigator, Criminologist and Security Specialist. An alumnus of the Professional Investigators Training School, Los Angeles, California, USA; University of Jos, Nigeria and the University of Leicester UK. Bassey, a fomer Security Advisor and member of Cross River State Government Executive Council is also an author and Drug Prevention Professional. Some of his works include General Principles of Security, Policing and Crime Prevetion in Nigeria, etc. Bassey is also an individual member of the World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD), a multilateral community of Non-Governmental organizations and individuals working towards a drug free world and promotion of peace, human development, dignity, equality, freedom and justice, among others.

Professor Jamila Mohammed Nasir, NRN., NRM., PhD., is a professor of Law currently teaching Contract and Intellectual Property Law at the University of Jos, Nigeria. Formerly the Dean of the University’s Faculty of Law (2006 – 2008), Professor Nasir had an early career as a paramedic upon completion of studies and qualifying both as a registered nurse and midwife. An alumnus of the University of Jos, Professor Nasir is an erudite scholar who has published severally in a number of academic journals some of which she edits. Among her published academic works are Diplomatic Lawlessness; Women Rights in Nigeria; Legal Regime for the Protection and Promotion of Industrial Designs in Nigeria and Democracy in Nigeria: The Place of Women. (Chapters in Books). She is also a consultant to the League for Human Rights and UNICEF.

Professor Moses U. Ikoh, PhD., is an alumnus of the University of Calabar and a Consultant Criminologist. He worked as Research Fellow with the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER) in Ibadan and the University of Jos. Dr. Ikoh is presently a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Federal University, Lafia, and has undertaken researches and published extensively on various aspects of crime, criminal justice, health and social development. His current research interests include policing, organized crime and governance, terrorism, national security, piracy and maritime robbery in the Gulf of Guinea. He is widely published and is currently carrying out extensive research work on information security, terrorism in West Africa and organized crime linkage with Europe. Dr. Ikoh is the Editor-in-Chief of the FULAFIA Journal of Social Sciences.

Dr. (Mrs.) Stella Chibuogu Bassey, PhD., attended the Women’s Training College Enugu and the University of Jos. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education (English) Degree, a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling and a PhD in Educational Guidance and Counseling from the University of Calabar. Besides her initial training as a professional teacher, she has expertise in Social Psychology having spent thousands of hours on counseling sessions with persons of criminal behavior.

Professor Musa Idris Okpanachi is a Professor of English at the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Nigeria. At various times, he has been an external examiner for graduate programmes at the Department of Arts and Social Science Education of The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a visiting Professor to Bauchi State University and Yobe State University respectively. An erudite scholar, he holds a PhD in English Language from the University of Maidugiri, Borno State. He has authored a number of books and published works in international journals. He is a poet and a recipient of the Association of Nigerian Authors/Cadbury prize for poetry in 2008. He has experience in the educational sector and working with young people in Nigeria makes him a veritable asset of ACON projects

Martin Morgan Obona is a UN Consultant and a Development Expert. Dr. Morgan has a wide range of experience with several international agencies including the UNESCO. His areas of expertise encompass Donor Agencies, Development Management, Security, Research and Human Development. He has worked in over 28 countries of the world including the conflict regions in the East and Central Africa. An alumnus of the University of Benin in Edo State, he is bilingual and holds several graduate qualifications including a PHD from the Gideon Roberts University in Lusaka, Zambia. His vast skill set and experiences are a tremendous asset to our council.

AB Dambazau, PhD., is a retired Lt. General and a Professor of Criminology, International Relations and Strategic Studies. An alumnus of the University of Keele, USA, Dambazau is an erudite scholar and author of several works in criminology and criminal justice. He was on time Registrar of the Nigerian Defense Academy in Kaduna, General Officer Commanding the Second Division of the Nigerian Army in Ibadan and the Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army.

ADVISOR

Oshita Oshita, PhD., is a distinguished Professor and an Ambassador for Peace of The UN POLAC Peace Programme. His current research interests are peace building and conflict-sensitive development programming, community early warning systems design/activation and policy analysis. He is an alumnus of The Universities of Calabar and Ibadan in Nigeria, the prestigious Bradford University, United Kingdom and has taught in several Universities in Nigeria and overseas. He was a member of the House of Representatives, Director of Research and Policy Analysis at the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) Abuja, and currently a directing staff and study group coordinator at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) Abuja.

Osam Edim Temple, PhD., is a Professor of Philosophy and Leadership Ethics, an Advisor to governments and a passionate voice for ethical leadership in Africa. He spent well over 25 years as a teacher, researcher and administrator in various Universities in Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia, including the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea and the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He was also an Instructor on Moral Philosoph with the US Army in Korea and established the Leadership Ethics programme at the American University of Nigeria. In 2010, he was selected the Zuzana Cmelikova Scholar of the Jepson School of Leadership, University of Richmond, U.S.A. He is a widely travelled speaker, life coach and facilitator of leadership training programmes. Professor Temple has conducted several training sessions which have contributed immensely to the development of Leadership ethics in organizations across cultures. They include Global Leadership Institute training in Kyunggido, South Korea, Global Leadership Seminar, Tel Aviv, Israel and Toncia Energy training for Oil executives in Dubai, U.A.E. Among his notable publications are: “Metaphysical Challenges of Ethical Leadership in Africa”, Leadership Volume 8, Number 1 2012, and the international edition of The Outrageous Idea of a Missional Professor, (Bonn, Germany: Verlag für Kultur und Wissenschaft, 2019) which he edited along with other international scholars. He is currently the Executive Chair of the Society of Christian Scholars and the Anglophone Africa representative of Global Scholars.

Wilson Tamfuh Nyako, PhD., is a Professor of Public and International Law at The University of Beauya in Cameroon. An alumnus of The University of Yaounde in Cameroon, The University of Jos, Nigeria and the United Faith University in Kentucky, USA, he holds Doctorates in Law, International/Global and Divinity Studies. Prof. Tamfuh is a member of several professional bodies including the coalition for the international criminal court. He was at various times also an associate professor at the Afe Babalola University in Ekiti State, Nigeria and the Centre for Policy, Security and strategic Studies at The University of Yaounde in Cameroon, the United States Institute of American Politics and Political Thought, Delaware Institute, University of Massachusetts. One of the pioneer advisors of the African Council on Narcotics, Tamfuh, is also the founder of the Centre for Law Development in Cameron.
