The Booming Illicit Drug Trade

Twenty-Nine years ago, in March 1991, to be precise, the General Assembly of the United Nations hatched its supreme anti-drug plan. The Assembly did so through the creation of the United Nations International Drug Control Program – UNDCP which was later renamed Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention (UNODCP). UNODCP was merged with the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Division to form the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC) in 2002. Read more
